School Leadership Positions

Director of Student Academic Services

District Wide | 2024-2025 School Year

Salary: $80,000 – $90,000, depending on experience

Job Summary:

The Student Academic Services (SAS) Director administers and supervises the NILD Educational Therapy Program on the three campuses of Bellevue Christian School. The SAS Director consistently models throughout all interactions an attitude of Christ-like servanthood, integrity, and accountability.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Therapists:

  • Supervise the educational therapists by modeling and providing feedback on precise and effective administration of educational therapy techniques
  • Advise educational therapists in selecting specific techniques, goals, and materials which best meet the needs of individual students
  • Meet on a regular basis with educational therapists to exchange information and evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention
  • Observe new students in the program, collaborate, and provide feedback with that student’s educational therapist
  • Conduct formal observations and evaluations for all staff members as described in department policies
  • Mentor new educational therapists by providing on-going meeting times for questions, technique review and feedback
  • Communicate with each educational therapist to ensure current status of Washington State and NILD certifications

Student Placement in SAS:

  • Assess students or assign relevant testing to complete assessments
  • Evaluate testing data, write initial testing report, determine if placement in the SAS program is appropriate, and communicate recommendations in a parent conference
  • Process applications for entrance into the program and coordinate with the Admissions team to maintain current waiting lists

Scheduling:

  • Assign students to educational therapists
  • Schedule academic course work for senior high students needing assistance
  • Assign therapy stations to educational therapists

Materials:

  • Oversee inventory of educational therapy materials
  • Order appropriate educational materials and equipment for the program

Budget:

  • Keep detailed records of student/therapist sessions for student billing department.
  • Meet monthly to discuss management of SAS department budget with Director of Finance.
  • Review and approve SAS department expenses.
  • Monthly reporting of sessions completed by Therapist to payroll department.
  • Plan and approve SAS therapist absences and substitutes.

Substitutes:

  • Schedule training sessions for department substitutes
  • Monitor performance of substitutes

Specific Responsibilities to the Broader BCS Community:

  • Review all admission files to determine possible academic or behavioral needs as part of the screening process for general school admission, as requested
  • Write 504 Plans for students who qualify for accommodations but are not in SAS
  • Oversee all 504 plans within the school
  • Process all requests for SAT/ACT for special testing concerns
  • Consult with parents of struggling students to discuss educational options, as requested
  • Consult with parents, teachers, and administrators on the behalf of students experiencing academic difficulties
  • Serve on school-wide committees, such as Curriculum
  • Serve on the Academic Administrative Team
  • Observe in classrooms and collaborate with teachers to determine accommodations/modifications and teaching strategies for students, as requested
  • Be available to serve on admission teams for students with learning difficulties
  • Attend staffing meetings for students with academic challenges (as requested)

Qualifications (required):

  • Proficiency in Christian leadership required to administrate successfully the NILD Educational Therapy Program:

Job Summary: Provide administrative and clerical support to the Director of the SAS Department. General responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create and maintain confidential files, located in the SAS office, for all BCS K-12 students currently in SAS, which will include a 504 plan/testing, or a Focus Form received by the director related to the Student’s academic challenges.
  • Coordinate director’s calendar; scheduling prospective parent meetings, responding to therapists, parents, principals, admissions and teachers’ meeting requests.
  • Assist in Jr High and High School scheduling, therapist’s schedules, and standardized testing scheduling. Work with enrollment and re-enrollment of SAS students to maintain and up-to-date list of therapy students, campus/grade assignments, therapist assignments and number of contracted therapy sessions being sure to communicate and reconcile with Student Billing to ensure accurate billing.
  • Arrange substitutes for therapists.

Qualifications:

  • Previous administrative support experience (preferably in school setting)
  • Must possess strong customer service and people skills
  • Proficiency and comfort with technology (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and web-based platforms)
  • Must be able to work comfortably with employees from all departments of the school

Bus Driver

District-wide | Designated Bus Routes

Salary: $26.00 – $30.00 per hour

Working Hours: 5 hours/day guaranteed during school year, job share/part-time will be considered

Responsibilities:

  • This person is responsible for driving a designated regular school bus or van route daily.
  • Additional hours for athletic and special activities may be available.
  • Five hours a day guaranteed during school days.

Technology Coordinator

Salary: $23.00 – $27.00/hour

Working Hours: 1.0 FTE

Job Summary: The Technology Coordinator’sprimary focus is relationship between technology and our customer, assisting all Bellevue Christian (BCS) faculty, staff and students with technology issues, to provide implementation expertise and education to faculty and staff, and to bring new technologies and practices into the classroom and offices to improve BCS as a whole. Such tasks and support will range from providing helpdesk-style support for teachers and staff such as troubleshooting a projector or desktop to working with teachers and staff to improve educational and corporate processes.

General Responsibilities:

  • Model a commitment to Jesus Christ and Christian education as a profession and calling and maintain knowledge of scripture and a positive testimony
  • Model an attitude of Christ-like servanthood, cooperation, judgment, and accountability
  • As a part of the Technology Department support the school’s technology needs in a manner that is God-honoring in every dimension

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level support for BCS production services – troubleshoot server/client/network technical problems as they arise and act as a point of escalation for complicated issues
  • Leverage knowledge of the desktop applications to help all staff
  • Facilitate with the Technology Manager the planning of system and feature upgrades across this school
  • Facilitate teacher’s use of technology in the classroom; consult, evaluate, train, and implement technology (hardware and software) that will fundamentally improve the education process at Bellevue Christian.
  • Facilitate staff’s use of technology in the office environment; consult, evaluate, train, and implement technology (hardware and software) that will fundamentally improve the day-to-day running of the Bellevue Christian business.
