As Christmas draws near, the Bellevue Christian School community finds itself in a season marked not only by twinkling lights and joyful gatherings, but by a deep sense of purpose. At BCS, December is more than a festive pause in the school calendar. It is a time when our mission comes into clear focus as we remember who we serve and what He has done for us. This season, we’re dedicating ourselves with renewed purpose to preparing young people to live fully and faithfully for God.

This year, that mission has been felt in profound ways through generous giving, joyful celebration, and heartfelt reminders of the true reason we rejoice at Christmas.

A Spirit of Generosity: Impact Through Giving Tuesday

Every year, Giving Tuesday invites communities around the world to pause and consider how they might give back. For BCS, it is a moment that reflects the values we seek to cultivate in our students—gratitude, generosity, and a willingness to invest in others.

This year, the BCS community once again stepped forward with remarkable support. Families, alumni, friends, and staff joined together to help us move closer to our Annual Fund goal of $760,000. Each gift—whether large or small—carried with it a shared belief in the mission of our school: providing students with a Christ-centered education rooted in academic excellence and spiritual growth.

The Annual Fund fuels programs that shape both hearts and minds. It supports classroom resources, faculty development, student experiences, and essential operations across all three campuses. But more than that, Giving Tuesday reminded us of something deeper: that God uses the collective generosity of His people to do extraordinary things. Every donation reflects a commitment to raising up young people who know they are created with purpose and called to live faithfully.

To everyone who gave, encouraged others to give, or lifted our school in prayer—thank you. Your partnership strengthens the foundation on which faith-filled education can flourish. And for those who missed Giving Tuesday, the door remains open. Every gift continues to make an impact.

A Community Illuminated: The 2nd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting

Just days after the excitement of Giving Tuesday, the BCS community came together for our 2nd annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony. On the evening of December 7th, families, students, faculty, and friends bundled up and gathered outdoors. Our community filled the space with warmth that had little to do with temperature.

Children giggled with hot cocoa in hand. Parents connected with one another, grateful for a moment of stillness in a busy season. Carols rang out joyfully, sung by voices young and old. And as the lights flickered to life on our campus tree, we were reminded of the Light that never fades.

At BCS, Christmas is not simply a cultural celebration. It is a declaration of hope. We celebrate because Jesus, the greatest gift of all, came into the world to bring light to the darkness. Our tree lighting ceremony is a joyful tradition, but it is also an act of worship, pointing our hearts back to the miracle of Emmanuel—God with us.

The evening captured what makes the BCS community so special: a shared faith, a shared purpose, and a shared desire to honor Christ in all things. We are deeply grateful to everyone who made the event so meaningful.

Honoring the True Meaning of the Season

In classrooms, chapels, hallways, and homes, students are learning what it means to carry Christ’s light into the world.

This season at BCS is not defined by gift lists or glittering decorations—though we enjoy those, too. Instead, it is shaped by a simple, profound truth: Jesus came so that we might have life, and have it abundantly. His arrival changed everything, and today, He continues to guide our steps as a school family.

As we look ahead to Christmas and the new year, we do so with grateful hearts—thankful for God’s provision, thankful for our community, and thankful for every person who partners with us in this mission of preparing students to live fully and faithfully for Him.

From our BCS family to yours, we wish you a blessed and joy-filled Christmas season. May the light of Christ shine brightly in your homes and hearts.
