It’s the perfect time for families at Bellevue Christian School to start thinking about tuition assistance for the upcoming academic year. At BCS, we want to ensure that every family has access to the financial resources they need to provide their children with a Christ-centered education. With that in mind, now is the time to apply for tuition assistance — and we’re here to help guide you through the process!
Why Now?
The deadline for tuition assistance and need-based scholarship applications at BCS is April 15. If you’re considering applying, there are only a few days left to make sure your application is submitted on time. Scholarships, like the Barnes Memorial Scholarship or the Scott Bioren Memorial Scholarship, are designed to help students in grades K-12 with demonstrated financial need. Remember, you must also submit a tuition assistance application to be considered for these scholarships.
On top of that, it’s important to note that May 1 is the deadline for tuition payments. If you haven’t already applied for tuition assistance, we strongly recommend doing so by April 15. It’s a great way to get ahead of the deadline, helping you make informed decisions about your financial commitment for the next school year.
Preparing Your Application
One key part of the tuition assistance application process is providing tax documents. Taxes are due April 15th, so most parents have already filed or soon will. The BCS tuition assistance application requires your most recent tax returns. If you haven’t filed yet, now is the time to wrap up those tax forms!
Having all of your financial documentation completed and ready will help speed up the process and ensure that your application is reviewed as soon as possible. Additionally, if you file a tax extension, your application will not be considered complete until all required tax documents are submitted.
How to Apply
At BCS, we use School and Student Services (SSS). This third-party organization evaluates the financial need of families. The SSS system allows us to assess each family’s ability to pay tuition based on factors such as income, family size, and special circumstances. Applying for tuition assistance doesn’t affect your child’s chances of admission, and it’s a completely separate process.
To start your application, simply visit the BCS Tuition Assistance page. You’ll find detailed instructions on how to submit your application through SSS. Be sure to gather your tax documents for a streamlined application. If you need any assistance along the way, don’t hesitate to reach out to our admissions team. They’re here to guide you through the entire process.
Finally, one thing to keep in mind is that tuition assistance is only awarded to families who are currently enrolled. If you are new to BCS, you will only receive notice of your award after you enroll your child (not before). We desire your family to be committed to us before we extend assistance.
Scholarships: Additional Support for Families
Beyond tuition assistance, BCS offers various scholarships that help further support families in need. The scholarships we offer are designed to assist families who are also applying for tuition assistance. All but one of these scholarships are need-based and funded by the generous BCS community.
The deadline for these scholarships is April 15. If you want to take advantage of these opportunities, apply now! The scholarships provide extra support to families, making it easier for students to access the incredible opportunities that BCS offers.
Key Deadlines to Keep in Mind
To make sure everything is on track, here are the important dates you’ll need to remember:
- April 15: Deadline for tuition assistance and scholarship applications. Be sure to submit your tuition assistance application by this date to be considered for any of BCS’s supplemental scholarships. Although you may apply any time, we are often not able to honor late applications as all available assistance has been allocated after April 15.
- May 1: First tuition payment is due. Applying late for assistance means you will need to pay full tuition until the application is reviewed and any award is given.
Applying early allows us to evaluate your financial needs and offer the assistance that will best support your family’s education plans. Therefore, we recommend submitting your tuition assistance application as early as possible to avoid any last-minute stress.
