Fall is always a vibrant time at Bellevue Christian School, and the 2025 season has been no exception! From lively athletic events to creative projects, meaningful retreats, and opportunities for students to explore their passions, these first weeks of school have been filled with moments that remind us why BCS is such a nurturing and inspiring place for children and families alike. Check out some of the highlights from just this past month!
Highlights of the Fall Season So Far
The season started strong on September 2nd. Less than two weeks later, we brought our school’s fundamental values to life in a brand-new mural at the Clyde Hill entrance, unveiled on September 12. The artwork beautifully weaves the school’s core themes of scholarship, relationship, and discipleship, creating a colorful welcome for students, families, and visitors. It’s more than decoration—it’s a daily reminder of the values that guide life at BCS and set the tone for learning, growth, and faith-filled living.
Next, our 9th–11th graders headed to SAMBICA for Lake Day on September 26th. This fall retreat was a perfect combination of fellowship, faith, and fun. Students spent the day swimming, boating, and enjoying the beautiful lake setting, all while building deeper connections with classmates and exploring what it means to live out their faith in community. We know the retreat made many lasting memories and strengthened bonds that extend beyond the classroom!
Early October Highlights
On October 2nd, BCS launched its new Seminar Series, “Good Work.” We’ve designed this series to help your kids explore the many pathways of vocation. Students met with professionals like Joel Gallion, Mike Thayer, and Dennis Haydon, learning about meaningful work and the ways faith can intersect with career. This series encourages mentorship, curiosity, and thoughtful reflection. It’s part of our commitment at Bellevue Christian School to equip young people to consider not only what they want to do, but how they can live out their calling in service to others.
The energy on campus sped up with the Three Points Elementary Fun Run on October 3rd. Smiling kids dashed across the Clyde Hill field, cheered on enthusiastically by high school athletes who sometimes joined the laps themselves! Laughter, encouragement, and school spirit filled the air, highlighting the way older and younger kids can support and inspire one another. Days like this remind us that growth at BCS is not just academic—it’s relational and joyful. We love seeing our older students leading, role-modeling, and cheering on their younger peers.
Then came the Community Carnival on October 4th, one of the biggest highlights of every fall season at Bellevue Christian. Families, students, and staff gathered at the Clyde Hill campus for an afternoon full of games, food, and activities for all ages. Volunteers from the BCS community helped make the day possible, creating an atmosphere of joy, connection, and togetherness. Events like these show that we’re more than a school—BCS is a community where families and students feel supported, valued, and celebrated.
What Makes the BCS Community Thrive
While these events are exciting landmarks in our school year, growth and connection at BCS happen every single day in a hundred little ways as we take a holistic approach to nurturing each child. Our mission and values guide every lesson, every interaction, every worship session.
Academics are rooted in curiosity and creativity, providing a strong foundation in core subjects while inspiring students to explore and think critically. Arts programs, from visual arts to music and drama, give children a chance to express themselves and develop their gifts. Athletics and other extracurricular activities build teamwork, resilience, and character, helping students grow in body, mind, and spirit.
At the heart of it all is faith. At Bellevue Christian School, we intentionally weave Christ-centered values into every aspect of school life. Teachers, staff, and families partner together to guide children in scholarship, character, and discipleship, helping each child develop compassion and a sense of purpose. Students are encouraged to see learning and life through a lens of faith, equipping them to make thoughtful, ethical decisions both in school and in the world beyond.
Looking Ahead: More Fun & Faith to Come!
As fall continues, there are even more opportunities ahead for growth, creativity, and community connection. Every event and classroom activity, however big or small, reflects our school’s mission: to nurture children in a Christ-centered environment, preparing them to live fully and faithfully for God.
From spirited Fun Runs to reflective retreats and joyful celebrations, Bellevue Christian School remains a place where students are encouraged to grow and explore. Guided by faith, surrounded by community, and empowered to become the people God created them to be.
