BCS and Common Core State Standards

The term Common Core refers to a set of standards that identify what students should know and be able to do at each grade level. These standards are one component of a larger framework which includes our Mission, Vision, BCS Doctrine and Principles and additional standards developed by the school. These elements combine to define our role as a Christian school. There is no common, external set of standards that will completely align with Bellevue Christian School’s mission and vision. Instead, Bellevue Christian School aligns its curriculum to Common Core Standards when they are consistent with our school mission and the foundation of God’s unchanging values.

Bellevue Christian does not participate in state standardized tests (for example, the Smarter Balanced or High School Proficiency Exams).
