Bellevue Christian’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Joe Banach, a BCS parent with children at our Woodinville and Clyde Hill Campuses. He is the owner of three physical therapy practices and attends Redemption Hill Bible Church. “I am humbled and excited to join the Board of Directors, as a servant of Christ I look forward to working with the BCS community and leadership,” said Banach.
Banach will replace Ruth Burnett, who has faithfully served the BCS community on the Board of Directors for the last six years. Burnett is married to BCS Alumnus Bill Burnett Jr. The couple has four children who are alumni of Bellevue Christian: Laura (2011), Sarah (2013), Ryan (2016) and Daniel (2017). “It has been an honor to serve on the BCS Board, and I am grateful for each Board member with whom I served these past six years. Observing God’s work in and through BCS and His continued faithfulness to our school has been awe-inspiring and humbling. The way the faculty, staff, and administration wholeheartedly carry out the mission of BCS is a testimony to their commitment to the Lord, to BCS, and to Christian education, and a blessing to our students and families. I look forward to all the Lord has in store for BCS in the future. To God alone be the glory,” Burnett said. We are enormously grateful to the Burnett family for their support and leadership over the years.
The Board of Directors is self-perpetuating, with new members serving up to two, 3-year terms. Board members must first be elected to the BCS Corporation. The corporation meets annually for corporate business and to elect new board members and approve the slate of board officers. This ensures stability and stewardship of the founding Philosophy of Christian Education. The Board is responsible for overseeing the Head of School, who in turn ensures that school operations align with the mission, vision and philosophy of BCS.
All monthly school board meetings are on the website calendar and are open to the school community.
