Due to the forecast of more snow on Monday afternoon and evening, we will postpone Monday’s screening of the new IndieFlix film, Like. This announcement regards the evening event only; it is not an announcement regarding the school day schedule for Monday. An alternate date for the screening and the follow-up panel discussion will be set soon. We look forward to bringing this important film to our school and the surrounding community!
All Bellevue Christian families, preschool through high school, are invited to join us for a special screening of the new IndieFlix film, Like. This event will take place on Monday, February 11th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Greene Commons at the Clyde Hill campus. Families from outside of BCS are also welcome to attend.
Like explores the impact of social media on our lives, and especially on the lives of young people. Bellevue Christian is featured in the film for its forward-thinking approach to smartphones in the Junior High school. After a screening of the film, Principal Blake DeYoung will host a panel with filmmaker Scilla Andreen, Junior High Assistant Principal Mike Olson, and other guests.
As with our hosting of Dr. Jean Twenge last year, we believe this discussion is appropriate for parents with children of all ages. Technology presents both challenges and opportunity, and Bellevue Christian remains committed to providing thought-leadership and respectful dialogue as we seek to understand the impact this has on our rapidly changing culture.
We look forward to seeing you at our community screening of Like on Monday, February 11th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Greene Commons on the Clyde Hill campus!
