Junior High Art and Architecture attended the Bellevue Arts Museum to see the impressive work of Louis Kahn, architect of such famous sites as The Salk Institute and the massive Dhaka Assembly Building in Bangladesh. Interesting concepts about how the architect was inspired and motivated were shared by an excellent docent, Roberta Andresen. The students were creatively inspired by seeing such a strong collection of work in the excellent museum setting at BAM. They also saw how technology is playing a greater role in the arts as they saw among many displays creatively woven scanning codes, fiber optic weavings, techno calligraphy and an interactive 3D scanner. They received great inspiration for their next project which is to conceive models and designs for a homeless shelter community.
