Viking Parent Group (VPG)*
As Christians, God calls us to be in community with each other in order to strengthen and enhance each person in the community of Christ, as well as, those outside of the community. BCS works to follow His call by having a parent volunteer association called Viking Parent Group (VPG) that serves as the means by which parents can use their talents to support mission-fit events that serve the faculty, staff, administration, parents, student body and the greater community. In short, the VPG is crucial to creating and fostering a robust relationship between the school and parents.
If you have a student at the Jr./Sr. High campus, then you are automatically a member of the Viking Parent Group! The Viking Parent Group promotes, coordinates and assists with fellowship opportunities, staff appreciation activities and fundraising events. We welcome you to join us in our service. To get more information please contact our Volunteer group coordinator at VPG@bellevuechristian.org. To find our meeting times, please see our VPG meeting calendar.
*VPG is the name for PTF/PTA on Jr./Sr. High campus. The elementary schools use the term PTF.
Even as our students grow older and more independent, parents still support them in their endeavors and education (not to mention driving them around or paying for gas). During this stage, a parent’s involvement might not be quite as direct as it used to be (i.e. sitting in on an elementary classroom, helping a child read or setting up an activity) but it’s no less important. A parent can greatly influence their child’s environment by creating good will within the school community, assisting the faculty in better serving the students and developing new connections between other parents. As a parent, you can contribute your ideas, talent or time. All are welcome and needed. Because the administration and teachers are limited, due to time and focus, in their ability to provide for the complete experience that BCS traditionally provides, parent involvement is essential. We ask you to continue the BCS tradition of making your child’s time at BCS memorable by joining VPG and getting involved.
