Roger Edward Spotts passed away on Dec 1, 2020 at the age of 42.

Roger was born on August 25, 1978 to Diane and Kenneth Spotts.  He graduated from Bellevue Christian High School in 1996 and enlisted in the US Marine Corps where he served four years plus two additional years after being recalled due to 9/11.  He then attended and graduated from University of Washington with a civil engineering degree, which led him to Midland, TX where he has worked in oil and gas since 2010, most recently as a Production Foreman for Occidental.

Roger had a passion for exploration.  He grew up in the Pacific Northwest where he spent countless hours exploring the forests, mountains, abandoned mines, and even the sewer tunnels with his siblings and friends.  Always a leader, he led many explorations during both child and adulthood, and will be remembered for his sense of adventure.  Although not from West Texas, Roger immediately fell in love with the area and told everyone he had “finally found his people.”

Roger married Cheryl Spotts in 1999 and they had two daughters, Audrey and Megan Spotts (Midland).  He is also survived by his parents, Diane Spotts of Bellevue, WA and Kenneth Spotts of Portland, OR, his fiancée Lauren Fey (Lubbock, TX), his siblings/spouses Aaron & Annie Spotts (Tallahassee, FL), Russell & Cori Spotts (Lakewood, WA), Conrad & Virginia Spotts (Los Angeles, CA), and Karen (Spotts) & Michael Bonner (Seattle, WA), as well as several cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephew.

Services for Roger will be held on Tuesday, December 15 at 2pm (central time) at First Baptist Church of Midland.  All Covid-19 protocols will be followed.  Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Bellevue Christian will share the link for the livestream of the service here once it is available.
