Dear Bellevue Christian Families,

It goes without saying, this has been a year like no other. Our students have done an incredible job of adapting to the changes in schedules and routines we have experienced this year. Parents have been very supportive and collaborative in keeping our campuses safe. Our families have shared feedback, persevered through challenges and embraced learning, no matter what method. For that, we thank you.

We are also proud of our teachers and staff for their creativity, energy and skill as we shifted to remote learning last spring and continued to adapt with both in-person and remote options this year. We remain committed to making wise decisions for our students, teachers and families.

We all recognize that the pandemic has made planning difficult – the longer the time horizon, the more uncertain the circumstances. We understand this presents a challenge when it comes to reenrollment. In order to provide as much certainty as possible, we are adopting a tighter enrollment model for the 2021-22 year which will provide greater value to families. Commitment to this model will also give the school a clearer and earlier picture of enrollment which will assist us with hiring, scheduling, and a smooth start to the year. These practices will also mirror our peer independent schools in the area.

While circumstances remain fluid, based on current events as of this writing, we are operating under a few assumptions:

  • First, we believe that we will be able to open for in-person learning in September 2021.

  • Second, we believe that a large percentage of people – including BCS employees and students – will have received an effective COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Third, we believe that constraints and restrictions will have loosened but that a general practice of social distancing and hygiene will still be part of school life.

  • Finally, we anticipate that demand for the valuable learning experience provided at Bellevue Christian School will continue to grow, as it has this year.

For next year, we intend to limit our K-3rd grade classes to 18 students and our 4-6th grade classes to 20. Our 7-12th grade levels will also be limited, so that we may provide an average core class size of 22. We anticipate that these decisions will result in waitlists at some grade levels for new students or for families who do not reenroll during the priority period. We encourage our current families to take advantage of our priority reenrollment, which closes on January 29th. We will ensure all currently enrolled families a spot for in-person learning at their preferred campus if they reenroll by January 29.

Currently, we anticipate offering only in-person learning. However, families who desire a remote option should communicate early and clearly with Amanda Albright, leader of the BCS@Home program.

Our tuition rates for the 2021-22 school year are $13,020 for Kindergarten, $14,210 for grades 1-6, and $17,390 for grades 7-12. A full list of tuition and fees, including for International and Student Academic Services, can be found here. The 2021-22 tuition reflects a typical increase despite costs related to technology and safety protocols. We believe it is important for Bellevue Christian to remain affordable for as many families as possible and will continue to invest strongly in Tuition Assistance.

In the interest of establishing a clear picture of enrollment as early as possible, we will also begin the 2021-2022 10-month tuition installment billing cycle on June 1, rather than our prior practice of July 1. Payment-in-full, with discount options, will also be due June 1.

Again, I strongly encourage families who intend to remain at Bellevue Christian School to reenroll during our priority enrollment period (ending January 29, 2021). This will ensure your spot. Families who reenroll by this date will also save $100 on their yearly enrollment fee. After this date passes, we will begin enrolling new students from what is already a very robust applicant pool. New inquiries and applications are currently well beyond previous years and, as I said, we do anticipate waitlists at some grade levels.

We look forward to partnering with you in your student’s academic career at BCS. We are happy to help. Contact our Admissions Team (or call, 425-460-3300) for reenrollment questions, or Student Billing (425-460-3343) regarding tuition and tuition assistance.

To reenroll your child, log into the Parent Portal to RenWeb, find ‘Family’ in the left side-bar and then click the carrot for the dropdown menu. Choose ‘Enrollment/Reenrollment’ and click on the reenrollment link for your student.
