Mission, Vision, Philosophy

Bellevue Christian stands on a strong foundation of Christian education, one which has stood the test of time and continues to serve as a model for schools around the country.

Our mission is To prepare young people to live faithfully for God in a rapidly changing world with the ability to understand, evaluate, and transform their world from the foundation of God’s unchanging values.

The BCS Educational Confession

Throughout the ages, Christians have responded to the Word of God in confessions of faith.  By means of these confessions, they defined their life together as believers.  At the same time they rejected the false teachings, and answered the troubling questions, of their time.

As Christians united in the task of educating children in the Lord, we have a similar obligation to respond to God’s Word for education.  This we are seeking to do in this educational confession.  This confession does not substitute for or compete with theological confession, but seeks to be in harmony with the historic creeds of the churches.

In order to document and explain the unique approach to Christian Education developed by the founders of Bellevue Christian, former BCS teacher Lowell Hagan authored the book, "Second Sight." He undertook this writing project to document the philosophical framework that drives Christian education at BCS.

Second Sight

All incoming faculty read this book, and it is recommended to new families in order to better understand how and why we approach education the way we do. “Second Sight” reflects the thought and work of dozens of people over many years at Bellevue Christian.  Please download a PDF copy for yourself!

  1. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  1. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

  1. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man regeneration sovereignly applied by the Holy Spirit and evidenced by a living faith in Christ is absolutely essential.
