Mack's Fourth Grade Environmental Studies
- How does what I learn help me see the wholeness of the creation and the glory of the Creator?
- How do I practice what I learn in a way that cares for others and the rest of creation?
Mrs. Murphy's fourth grade class explored these important essential questions by becoming a King County Blue Team last year. As a Blue Team the class was sponsored by the Lucky Seven Foundation and given four hours of Nature Vision support from a naturalist to completed a project of their choice. They chose a three part project that included removing invasive species from the Mack Campus pond area, planting native plants in their place, and creating brochures about native plants to encourage families to plant them at home. They also learned how to make eco-friendly lunches with less waste
"We became a Blue Team because we like to take care of God's creation and keep it safe from danger." Click here to read more about the student's Blue Team Project.
