Card
Catalog Tutorial
| The card catalog is easy to use!
It contains information on all of the
material in
this Library. You can search through
this information by Title, Author, Keywords,
Subject, etc. First, follow these easy steps to
get into the Card Catalog:
- Click Start
- Click Programs
- Click Research Tools
- Click Card Catalog

Now that you have opened the card catalog,
you can search for
a book.
- To do this, enter a name,
title or keyword in the search box. Click the button of the
search you want to perform. (i.e.,
George Orwell, Author)

The information for your search is
displayed as shown on the right.
- Your search term result will be
highlighted in blue. Click Select
or double-click on the blue line. It
will give you information about
the item you've selected.
Libraries are organized
by the Dewey Decimal System. Your item will
be labeled with it's own Dewey number if
it's Non-Fiction, or it will be labeled with
the first three letters of the author's last
name if it is a Fiction item.
Remember, the book-cases are
labeled with signs to help you locate your
books.
