BCS Weekly E-bulletin

May 5, 2008

All School News

Save the Date--BCS Recognition and Farewell Open House: Sunday, June 8. Watch for more details in a separate E-bulletin coming soon!

Bye Bye Birdie Performances: Thurs., May 8-7:30 PM; Fri., May 9-7:30 PM; Sat., May 10 at 2 & 7:30 PM. Tickets are no longer available on-line; a limited number will be available at the door Fri./Sat. Tickets still available Thurs. & Sat. matinee.

All BCS Families & Employees traveling to Three Points Elementary: BCS is in agreement with the City of Medina that we will honor their request to adhere to the following designated route when visiting the campus: Travel west on NE 24th Street, right on Evergreen Point road and right on NE 28th St to the school. (Take 28th to Evergreen to NE 24th when leaving.) Neighbors have recently complained that cars are taking shortcuts to this route; please remember to display a positive Christian testimony to our neighbors!

Annual Parenting Seminar: Tues., May 6, 7-9 PM, LRC, Clyde Hill campus Please join us for this informative seminar specifically designed for parents of 5th-12th grade students. This is not the program for other parents--it's for you. BCS counselors have planned an evening for parents to find out what your kids already know, learn what's new & get your questions answered. Topics include: substance education, how to talk to your child about substance, BCS policy, warning signs, legal issues & how we work together as a community. Hear from: Jolene Dierdorff & Danielle Lopez, BCS counselors; Kathie Gillet, Treatment Director at Lakeside Milam; Fern Herbert, Attorney-Herbert Law Offices; Lisa Rudduck, Adolescent Counselor, private practice.

These issues impact all students in one way or another regardless of what school they attend, how healthy their family is or whether they are active in church. Your attendance signals your commitment to informed parenting & effective partnering with BCS - not that you have a problem. Things have changed since you were in school.  Questions: Danielle Lopez, dlopez@bellevuechristian.org or Jolene Dierdorff, jdierdorff@bellevuechristian.org

Do you like to plan ahead? Academic calendars for: 2009-2010, 2010-2011& 2011-2012 were approved by the School Board April 17 & are posted here: Academic Calendars
