Volunteer Opportunities

Every BCS Family is encouraged to volunteer 30 hours-- just 3 hours monthly--at any campus. 

If you are a BCS group needing volunteers for an upcoming event/activity or for a regularly scheduled event, contact Lynelle Coyle: lcoyle@bellevuechristian.org

with a brief (1-3 sentence) description of what is needed and include a contact name and email.

High School Science Open House: If you'd like to know more about the Science experience your student will have in HS, please join us at the Science Open House March 17, 7-8:45 PM, BCS Commons. Flyers will be sent out in the JH March monthly mailing.

 

Expanding Your Horizons: Annual Middle School Conference for girls grades 6-8: Sat., March 29 @ Bellevue Community College. Registration deadline: March 15.  Information & registration brochure is being sent home in the JH March monthly mailing.

 

Town Hall Meeting: April 1, 7 PM JH/HS parents are invited to hear Ron Taylor provide an update about BCS including the status of the feasibility study (researching the possibility & viability of a plan to provide new buildings & refurbish existing facilities). Additionally, you will learn more about Understanding By Design--the  vision for what BCS is doing instructionally including enduring understandings & assessment for learning. Tim Krell & Bill Safstrom will also give an update on specific goals & current program/student highlights at JH & HS campuses.

All Parents of Seniors: Seniors will be honored at the annual Junior Senior Banquet (JSB) on June 14. A special part of the evening will include a video presentation featuring Seniors from elementary school years up to their Senior year. We need your help in providing photos of your student & their friends. Guidelines:

  • Please send up to 5 photos of your Senior.
  • Include a variety of ages ranging from kindergarten through the present.
  • Photos may be individuals or groups of students
  • Label each photo including all persons shown
  • Do not send originals as we can't assure that photos will be returned.
  • Digital format is preferred however we recognize that many photos were taken prior to the digital age of photography. *Scanning to digital whenever possible is greatly appreciated.
  • Photos should be high resolution as they will be enlarged on a big screen.
  • Submit all photos by March 12, 2008

Attention Mississippi Mission Team: Everyone is required to attend the 1-day retreat Sat., March 15. Permission forms & checks for $15 due today--Katy Otis, HS counseling office. Final deposit of $400 is due this month to Sandra Ondracek in the HS office.

Attention AP Students: AP tests are coming up in May & you should have received registration forms from your AP teachers for these tests. If you haven’t received a form & plan to take a test, please come by the counseling office to pick one up. Forms along with payment are due Mon., March 10 in the counseling office. More info: Katy S. ACT/SAT Sample tests: Kaplan is holding a seminar March 27, 6 PM at Seattle Kaplan Center. Similar to the event held at BCS in Jan., it is a complimentary ACT/SAT combo test for students, as well as a short seminar on the College Admissions process for parents. Tuition supports 90% of the BCS Budget each year.  We ask each family to prayerfully consider supporting BCS financially, above and beyond tuition.  The most important and cost effective gift is one to the Annual Fund.  After that, there are many fun ways to support BCS programs and students!
