News Longtime BCS parent Kippy Egly-wife of Paul, mom of
Erin '99, Bryan '05 and Sarah-suffered a fatal brain aneurysm this past
weekend. Please keep the family in prayer as they cope with their shock and
loss while anticipating Erin's wedding which is two weeks away. Kippy's
funeral will be held this Fri., Jan. 19, 2 PM at Westminster Chapel in
Bellevue. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made
to: Community Home, 6528 Penny Lane, Lynnwood, WA 98036. (This is where
daughter Sarah currently lives.) You are invited to attend an Epiphany
Concert: 2 PM on Jan. 27 at First Presbyterian Church in Bellevue
featuring Concert Choir, Kantorei, Chanson and BCS Singers. Annual Fund

Opportunities Every BCS Family is encouraged to volunteer 30 hours-- just 3 hours monthly--at any campus. If you are a BCS group needing volunteers for an upcoming event/activity or for a regularly scheduled event, contact Lynelle Coyle: lcoyle@bellevuechristian.org with a brief (1-3 sentence) description of what is needed and include a contact name and email. Auction We're only 2 months away from the event of
the year...our annual Gala Banquet & Auction! Needed: a team
of 3-4 volunteers to make our silent display boards...a fun project! Needed: computer savvy person to create the
media, coordinate the music & add photos & wording for our live

Elementary Needed: Coach for 5th Grade Math
Olympiad students. Some of our students are interested in participating
in the WA State Mathematics Council Math Olympiad on Sat., May 3, 2008.
Students in schools from all over the state compete as teams in various areas
of math. They are not competing against each other but working towards
superior performance. Mack has participated in this contest for many years
& needs a coach to continue. Coach will work w/ students on a weekly
basis after school for an hour. Materials available to help prep students.

events to honor our JH/HS faculty & staff! Meeting each month

Please note: combined Mack & 3 Points 5th grade band concert is scheduled for Feb. 21. 5th grade Math Olympiad: coach needed! Without one there isn’t an opportunity for our kids to participate. If math is your thing & you like kids, please prayerfully consider volunteering. It’s fun to see kids wrestle w/ a problem together to reach an answer. Geography Bee! Sarah Burnett, 7th grader, is the 1st runner up. BCS
could not have participated in this program if it were not for Mrs. Ricard

out the pink Change Request Form available in the JH Office.
NetClassroom: JH students can view their 2nd semester schedule in NetClassroom. Don't forget, you can call the JH Office if you forget your ID/password.
IOWA Testing - All JH students will participate in the annual IOWA
Basic Skills testing Jan. 29-31. Parents: please help us by not
scheduling appointments for students during these days. The test

to hear HS Counselor, Jolene Dierdorff, review PSAT results from the Oct.
test day. She will also provide advice to juniors as they continue

couples (which were not
available before Christmas Vacation) are now included in the

practice SAT & ACT tests! In Jan., the counseling office
will offer an ACT & SAT practice test through Kaplan Test
Prep-free of charge. Juniors are strongly advised to attend one
or both of these practice tests; however, both practice tests are open to all
BCS students. Remaining practice test: ACT Practice Test: Sat., Jan. 19,
8AM-1PM. Registration starts: 7:30AM; doors close 8 AM. Sign up sheet
in counseling office. On
Tues., Jan. 29 there will be a Kaplan ACT/SAT Practice Test Review in the LRC
in the evening. Students who took the practice tests will review their tests
& learn how to interpret em & possibly better their scores in the
future when they take the actual tests. Students will also learn the

Feb. 4, Feb. 25 Opportunities to Support BCS Financially Tuition supports 90% of
the BCS Budget each year. We ask each family to prayerfully consider
supporting BCS financially, above and beyond tuition. The most
important and cost effective gift is one to the Annual Fund. After
that, there are many fun ways to support BCS programs and students!
Community Resources Westminster Chapel is hosting: Women in the Workplace Dinner
Event, Thurs., Feb. 7, 6:30-8:30 PM in the Community Life Center room. Speaker:
Shellie Dow, Director
of the Call Center, Nintendo. "Uncover, Unleash, Glorify: Using Your
Strengths". Shellie manages 200-400 people in 3
locations. A 20-year veteran of building work teams & coaching
individuals to achieve their full potential in work & life. $15 includes
