Schedule Changes Due to Weather

Select any of the following options to access updated info about schedule changes:

  1. e-bulletin: be sure you're signed up! Subscribe
  2. BCS website: www.bellevuechristian.org Information will be posted on the home page.
  3. www.schoolreport.org Enter "Bellevue Christian School" in Keyword Search or, select private schools then follow the prompts.
  4. All major radio and television stations will broadcast schedule changes by 6:30 a.m. or at other times during the day if a decision is made to close school, delay start times or dismiss school early.
  5. Call the District Office for an update: 425.454.4028, press "0".

Listen for one of the following announcements after hearing Bellevue Christian School:

  • School Closed
  • 10 a.m. start; limited transportation; no morning preschool or morning kindergarten
  • On time; limited transportation

BCS families are located throughout the Puget Sound area on hills, in valleys and along the waterfront. Therefore, if we make a decision to operate school and you determine that it would be unsafe for you to travel, please keep your children home. We respect your judgment in such circumstances.

When school starts late, morning preschool, morning kindergarten, and junior/senior high morning activities (like athletic or music practices) and zero period classes are canceled. Decisions on after school activities will be posted on the BCS website. All day kindergarten follows the altered schedule; afternoon preschool operates on its regular schedule.

The junior/senior high will provide a special class schedule for days that start late. Unless notified otherwise, you may assume that all normal services and schedules, such as the switchboard, receptionist, and general supervision of the campus, will begin at 10 a.m. However, events occurring before school, such as athletic practices, music, and independent classes, will be canceled.

Limited transportation schedules are as follows:
Bus 3
Bus 16
Mack Shuttle

When weather conditions require an early dismissal from school, listen to the radio for dismissal time and for limited transportation announcements.

If weather conditions necessitate the elimination of a bus stop, the driver will let students off as close as possible to the scheduled stop or at one of our school family's home with instructions to call parents. We appreciate families working together to assure the safe arrival of our students. If students cannot be discharged safely, (young children must be discharged to a school family or designated adult) the driver will keep them on the bus and return to school and call the parents.
