Greetings from the Superintendent
We are delighted that you are interested in Bellevue Christian School (BCS).
Founded in 1950 by brothers Joe and Al Greene, BCS provides a comprehensive Preschool – 12th grade education serving the children of Christian families on the eastside of King County. Based on biblical principles and centered on Jesus Christ, we are first and foremost a faith community. Secondly, we are a community that believes the best education takes place within the context of relationships, and the unique giftedness of every child is valued, demonstrated by our size and breadth of program.
One of the few non-elitist independent schools in the Northwest, we count it a privilege to educate a diverse student population. Not only do we value excellence in academics - our students are well prepared for college - we are committed to "Learning to Think through Life". Our common goal is that all students will engage in purposeful study, leave BCS knowing how to "think Christianly" and be prepared to enter a college or work place consistent with their abilities and gifts.
We are excited about the future at Bellevue Christian School and believe we are a focused learning community, prepared to help students understand, evaluate and transform their world from the foundation of God's unchanging values. Welcome!

Mission Statement
To prepare young people to live fully for God in a rapidly changing world, with the ability to understand, evaluate, and transform their world from the foundation of God's unchanging values.
Christian Community
Serving close to 1,300 students with a comprehensive program preschool through grade 12, Bellevue Christian School seeks a staff and student body that reflects the cultural, ethnic, and interdenominational diversity of the body of Christ. To avoid being elitist or narrowly sectarian, BCS promotes socio-economic and religious diversity through financial aid and admission and hiring practices. Interdenominational, with no direct ties to any denomination or church, BCS draws students from more than 160 Christian congregations, and some from other religions. Fifteen percent of BCS students receive financial aid from a pool of over $900,000. The English as a Second Language program enhances student enrollment from other cultures, primarily from Asian countries on the Pacific Rim.
In seeking high standards of education, BCS also recognizes the unique differences and value of each student. In 1982, the school adopted a very successful academic therapy program, Student Academic Services (SAS) to meet the special needs of some students at high risk of failure. The program is now accredited by the National Institute for Learning Disabilities. BCS is a model for other schools and a training center for academic therapists, locally and internationally.
